Chai Nat holds a lot of history in Thailand. During the wars with the Burmese it was a very important military base, they thought off all the confrontations from the Burmese successfully and that's where the name Chai Nat comes from (Chai Nat means Place of Victory).
The province also has the Chaophraya Dam, it was completed in 1957 and was the first constructed in Thailand. The Dam impounds the river for flood control and feeds the country's largest irrigation system for rice paddies.
Chai Nat is split into 8 districts and has 474 villages. The main attractions here are temples with the Wat Thamma Mulvharn a must to see. It also hosts the Chainatmunee Bird Park which is the largest in Asia. Chainatmunee National Museum, Wasan Crocodile Farm and Monkey Park are other great places to visit.
